“We will do our best to support Black Pink’s activities,” he said, adding, “We will cheer for the individual activities of the members with a warm heart.”

YG executive producer Yang Hyun-seok said at the time of the group’s exclusive contract, “I’m happy to continue my relationship with Black Pink,” adding, “We will do our best to make Black Pink shine more brilliantly in the global music market in the future.”

YG has maintained its position that it is “under discussion” when asked about personal exclusive contracts, but it officially broke up on the same day.

on Aug. 8, 2016 Blackpink debuted with double titles “Whistle” and “Boombayah.” All four members, Jennie, Jisoo, Rosé, and Lisa, created buzz upon their debut as YG’s new girl group that combines both skill and beauty.

In addition to their debut songs, they have emerged as K-pop stars by making successful songs such as “Playing With Fire,” “As If It’s Your Last,” “Ddu-Ddu-Du‘뚜두뚜두’/ ” “Kill This Love,” “Lovesick Girls,” “Pink Venom,” and “Shut Down.”

“BORN PINK,” the second full-length album released in September last year, became the first K-pop girl group to top the U.S. Billboard main album chart “Billboard 200” and the official album chart of the U.K. “Top 100,” establishing itself as a world star.

In addition, last year and this year, they successfully performed the largest-ever world tour of a K-pop girl group, mobilizing 1.8 million people (based on solo concerts) from all over the world.

Like other K-pop senior groups such as EXO and Super Junior, Black Pink is expected to engage in individual and team activities in a “separate and together” manner in which they unite during team activities even if their agencies are different.

Member Jenny recently revealed that she established her label “ODD ATELIER” on her social media (SNS).
