Melon Milestone: ‘1 Billion Streams’ and the Changing Music Industry Landscape

K-pop girl groups New Jeans, IVE, and Pinkfong (famous for ‘Baby Shark’) have reached 1 billion streams on the music platform ‘Melon’.

New jeans, IVE, and Pinkfong were named on Melon’s ‘Billiance Club’.

Only artists who have achieved more than 1 billion streams can enter.

New jeans surpassed 1 billion views on the 2nd of December, 498 days after their debut, and Ive surpassed 1 billion views on the 26th Dec.

Pinkfong set a record of 1 billion streams as the representative song “Shark Family” has been played more than 60 million times and several other songs have become popular.

“Pink Fong Baby Shark Gymnastics” is also ranked first in the world in views on YouTube.

It is said that a commemorative stamp for “Pink Fong and Baby Shark” will be released next year in time for Children’s Day.
